Gerty is a children's safeguarding specialist with over a decade of experience within Child Protection Services in the East Anglian Region, UK. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Social Work. She is passionate about the voice of the child and has established positive relationships to ensure young people are heard. Gerty has worked as a social worker within assessment, safeguarding, family intervention, multi agency safeguarding hub, looked after children teams. Additionally within adult services she has practised in safeguarding and mental health teams as a senior practitioner. She is a skilled in undertaking specialist assessments, working with young individuals with complex needs. Gerty has supported various agencies including those who run supported living provisions as a consultant, providing coaching, mentoring and supervisory support.  

Gerty runs a young people's group within her local community. She is a published author in a book which speaks of resilience, hope and transitions.
